Kamraatit chosen as 'Best Fan Ambassador'
For the first time, the CHL and its partners CRAMO and Warrior appointed 'Fan Ambassadors' for each of the 48 teams taking part this season. More than 90 Ambassadors were tasked with sharing their experience at games through the #GreatDayAtCHL campaign, and generally promoting their team's CHL matches – with a prize for the best one.
The jury has now reached its verdict, and the prize has been awarded to IFK Helsinki's fan ambassadors – the Kamraatit Fan Club! The Kamraatit did a lot more than simply turn up at matches to support their team, as the jury recognized.
"First of all it should be said, that taking the Fan Ambassador role as a whole group is a very strong statement. It shows full commitment towards the Champions Hockey League," said jury member Monika Reinhard, CHL Communication Manager. "Kamraatit also always had the ‘big picture’ in their mind, not just limiting their #GreatDayAtCHL campaign activities to game day content – but also to any other activity which helped the CHL to grow. They shared information about the league, welcomed the opposing teams and fans to Helsinki, engaged with other fan ambassadors on Social Media and helped to increase the excitement with several other activities."
"Also, the Kamraatit Fan Ambassador jersey was represented at CHL games abroad, meeting with local IFK fans and the Fan Ambassadors of the opponents, which reflects an important off-ice effect of our competition: the CHL connects clubs and fans” she concluded.
"I was in a meeting when the call came, and was surprised because I didn't recognize the country code!" explained Christer Kasurinen of the Kamraatit. "All of us are very proud to get this prize. A lot of hours went into everything we did, starting from the summer when we shot the 'Return to Helsinki' video. We loved meeting fans of other hockey teams and seeing creative people come together to make this a reality."
What's the prize?
Thanks to CHL partners Cramo, the Kamraatit have won a trip to the CHL Final for three people. The trip includes three VIP tickets as well as flights and accommodation. In addition to that, our partner Warrior will give three “Hoockeys” from our shop (see here) , which they can choose the team, colour, and name on the back of!

"It was not an easy choice for the jury,” Reinhard adds. “The commitment and creativity of all participating Fan Ambassadors was overwhelming. We would like to thank our Fan Ambassadors all over Europe for their efforts. The campaign was a big success.”
The Champions Hockey League and its official partners Cramo and Warrior appointed more than 90 Fan Ambassadors for the 2016-17 season to act as positive advocates for the competition. The Fan Ambassadors were rewarded with free tickets to the CHL games of their clubs, a special Fan Ambassador jersey and behind the scenes access.
