About the club

Eisbären Berlin have won seven German championship titles since re-unification in 1990. Prior to that, the club were champions of East Germany 15 times under the name SC Dynamo Berlin. In light of the many successful years in the recent past and as the only former East German club in the DEL, Eisbären have built a huge fanbase in the former East Germany. A new era in the club's history began in 1999 when Anschutz Entertainment Group took over on the business side and set up new structures that provided the club with financial stability. This led to unprecedented success for the club, with seven titles in a nine-year span between 2004 and 2013. Star players include Stefan Ustorf, longtime captain of the German national team, and Sven Felski.
