About the club

Brynäs IF, located in the city of Gävle and one of the oldest clubs taking part in this year's Champions Hockey League, dates its history back to 1912. In the 1960s and '70s, Brynas was a Swedish powerhouse -- between 1964 and 1980 they won 10 titles in Sweden, and in the European Cup won two silvers and two bronzes. Their most recent title came in 2012, although they made the SHL finals in 2017. Brynäs play their home games in the 7,909-capacity Gavlerinken Arena.
